The Shop

Driftwood Music is situated in a rear addition to an 1850s inn and trading post in Saint Charles, Missouri. Founded in the Frenchtown district, Driftwood quickly outgrew the eight-hundred square foot building and we had to find a space large enough for our vision. We found the Boone’s Lick Road property and waded through a legal entanglement of ownership and months later waded through the mud left behind by record rainfall. After 15 months of cleaning, teardown, rebuilding, and inspections we are finally ready to reopen and share with the world what we’ve been working on!

Our storefront is never stale, we are always changing, but we promise that after our friendly welcome, you will find an incredible collection of vintage and used musical instruments. Step out of the world and into our guitar shop and you will leave with a smile. We also run a full-service repair shop employing fine luthiers and the best equipment we can get our hands on. Come see why Saint Charles trusts us with their instruments

Pete Buncher

From years of restoring, buying, and selling vintage instruments, Pete has become an expert when it comes to all things vintage. In 2006, Pete lived in Nashville where he worked in the historic and art division of the Gibson Custom shop. After moving back home to St. Louis, Pete brought together his knowledge of vintage instruments and skills as a luthier to create Driftwood Music, a vintage boutique and the home of Buncher guitars.
