For sale today is a beautiful USA made Silvertone/Harmony 1454 from 1966 in red burst. This guitar features a laminate maple body, poplar neck with a rosewood fretboard, original D'armond pickups, original bridge, and original knobs. The only non-original thing is that the bridge pickup needed to be re-wound. Everything from that pickup was preserved except for the wire.
Most of the time when people are looking for a hollow body they immediately think "Gretsch" or "Gibson" but do yourself a favor and consider a silvertone. The D'armond pickups have a mid-range growl that adds a unique personality through any amp. Almost any style of music can sound great through this guitar. It's got the jangle for country, nuance for jazz, its got the beef for blues, and it will rock too. The neck on this guitar has a great feel and frets true all the way up. Even whole step bends ring true.
