Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite Bass 1971 - Clear
For sale today is an all original 1971 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite bass! This features a totally clear, lucite body and a single, great sounding ampeg pickup. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard featuring 24 frets. These basses are unique also in that they are short scale. The tuners are stock by the company Schaller. The pickguard and headstock are composite but look like rosewood.
The condition of this bass is very good as the body is free of any dings, cracks, or defects. There are some extremely light clear coat scratches on the body, but nothing that signifies any abuse. It is still super translucent even after 50 years. The neck is in great shape too with almost no finish loss. There's one spot behind the 12th fret on the treble side that is the largest area of finish wear (See photos). You will see a tiny amount of fret wear, but there are no dead spots, and no fretting issues on the neck at all. The bass weighs in at 9 lbs. 11 oz. It comes with its original hardshell case, warranty card, owners manual, adjustment wrench, and original rosewood saddle.
