Oscar Schmidt Stella 1920's - Natural

For sale today is a restored Oscar Schmidt Stella from the 1920's. This guitar features a v-shaped mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard, original pearl inlays, a quarter sawn white oak body, Adirondack spruce top, an ebony bridge, and a beautifully checked French polish finish. This guitar now has incredible tone and play feel for being 100 years old now that it has had its necessary repairs. The action is low, and the guitar sings with even the lightest touch. This is a great vintage parlor guitar.

Let's talk about the repairs and restoration of this guitar. It has a new ebony fingerboard with the original inlays (transferred). It received new frets, a new bridge and bridge pins. The guitar came with a badly done neck reset. We re-did that and now have it at the correct angle and it looks clean too. One back brace was replaced, the others were re-glued before it came to us. The fret marker at the 10th fret instead of the 9th was a European standard at the time. There are still some holes from the original trapeze tailpiece. The back shows some cracks near the center seam, those have been repaired and covered from the inside with a back strip underneath the back braces. The only binding missing is in the soundhole. Some binding has been added in other spots to fill voids where the binding was missing.
