Guild F-112 1972 - Natural

For sale today is a beautiful, small-body 12-string from Guild, the F-112. This guitar was built in 1972 in Westerly, Rhode Island. This guitar combines the time-tested combination of a spruce top and mahogany sides with the Guild charm. The weight of the guitar is 4 lbs. 11 oz. The nut width is 1.80". The height at the 12th fret of the E on the bass side is .08" and on the treble side is .07".

As with all vintage instruments, a little repair work was necessary to get it going again. The mahogany neck was reset and a crack along the fingerboard was cleated and reglued to the braces. The bridge is Brazilian rosewood and was reglued while still retaining good height. All twelve bridge pins are original and a new bone saddle was carved to bring this to life. The end pin had been drilled out for a pickup and this was plugged but can be drilled out again if desired. The neck is straight thanks to a refret and you'll notice the hairline crack on the back which is common with these dual-truss rod Guilds. This crack has been glued and is stable, it's not uncommon to see.

Otherwise, you will notice physical wear in various areas around the guitar. The back has some scratches, the top also has scratches and pick wear. The neck has some small dings, as well as the headstock. All necessary structural issues have been addressed and repaired. There are no strap buttons.

This guitar fits into a unique category of small bodied 12-string. For that reason, this guitar fits on a smaller player extremely well. The tone out of this guitar is extremely deep and present with a spectacular shimmer on the high end. The action is low but not so much as to cause buzzing, or fret-out. It plays really well now and is ready to make music! It does not have a case but will be packed with care, much of what we ship goes without a case. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions on this fantastic guitar and we will do our best to help. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
