Goya G-12 Steel String 60's-70's - Natural
For sale today is a Goya G-12 acoustic guitar. This features a birch body and a spruce top. I don't know off hand what wood the neck is made of, but the figuring in the headstock is beautiful. This G-12 has a feature that is uncommon to these guitars, a solid, non-slotted headstock. This is meant for light gauge steel strings (silk & steel), or nylon strings, and sounds phenomenal with both. The tone of this guitar is lively, jumpy, and perfect for the fingerstyle or folk player. The finish of the guitar has the beautiful lacquer checks that you see on guitars of this age.
Near the arm-rest area of the guitar there are some spots of missing lacquer and dings on the top, but no cracks. There is a bit of buckle rash on the back toward the end-pin. The neck is in great shape with no big divots or dings on the back, or playing surface to affect playability. The frets look to be original and are quite low, but still fret well and are not pitted. There looks to have been a bridge re-glue done at some point, but it was done well and is holding up as it should. Action is not too high, not too low and there's plenty of saddle room left. It is currently strung with silk & steel strings and will ship in an era correct chipboard case. Please let us know if you have any questions on this great guitar and we will do our best to help. Thank you for looking and have a great day!
