Dobro D-40 Texarkana - Gardenia 1965-66 - Mahogany

For sale today is an all original Dobro that was built around 1965-66 in mahogany finish. This guitar has a great feel for an old resonator with such a thin neck! It is in pretty darn good shape, crack free and plays great. The resonator sounds good and strong with no unsavory sympathetic rattles. The string travel does feel a little bit off, so you'll feel a little extra room on the bass side than the treble. That can be addressed with a new bridge however, so it's not the end of the world. There's a pretty normal amount of relief to the neck but the action is a little high at the 12th fret. It frets true with no fret-out up to the 15th fret. The finish is in good shape with more scratches on the leg rest area than anywhere else. There's some buckle rash to note as well. The top is very clean though as is the headstock. There's one larger area on the upper-bout/side of the guitar that has a pea sized area with missing finish that should be visible in photos. Overall, this thing is in surprisingly good shape for its age. It will ship in what looks like its original case (black/chrome banding/yellow interior). Please let us know if you have any questions on this great Dobro and we will do our best to help. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
