1978 Alvarez 5055
For sale today is an Alvarez 5055 from 1978. This is a great sounding J-200 copy, and a good player as well. A few notes on the overall condition:
-This guitar has some play wear and lacquer checking, expected of a guitar this age, but nothing that affects sound, playability, or structural stability (see photos).
-The frets are original and have some wear across the board and some light divoting in the first position, but the wear is even and aside from some buzz at the 15th fret, the guitar rings out up and down the fretboard without significant buzzing, dead spots, or other major issues.
-The nut width is 1.681" (42.7mm)
-The action is currently around 0.1" on the bass side and 0.08" on the treble side at the 12th fret. This guitar does not appear to have had a neck reset, but there is still room to come down at the saddle.
-Weight is 5 lbs. 2.15 oz.
This guitar will be packed with the utmost care and ship fully insured with the original hardshell case. Please reach out if you have any additional questions, thanks for looking!
